San Francisco : Google now working on micropayment system that would allow the newspapers to charge easily for the online contents, the web search (giant) has been revealed in the proposal to Newspaper Association of U.S.In that proposal, which is released on the internet yesterday, Google said - Its micropayment system would be up and running within a year and would enable the simple payment of one cent to more dollars.
However, Google clarified it didn't believe that the scheme would be the salvation of the newspapers, which will seen their circulation dramatically decline as readers will view the articles online, Most often through free news aggregators like Google-News.For time being ,we believe that advertising will likely remains the main source of revenue for most news content, The paid model can serve as an important source of additional revenue, The company said -In its proposal.
Google said -that its system would be integrated with its current Checkout online payments system and would allow user's to utilise one sign on to access various media, while publishers would be able to bundle more titles in a single subscriptions. The Google will take some unspecified cut of the revenue generated by publisher's.
