India take's on New Zealand in first match - Compaq Cup 2009

Colombo: India ready for thier opening match of the Compaq Cup tri-series against New Zealand .the opener Gautam Gambhir was ruled out of the tournament due to groin strain.All indian fans will be hoping for the  comeback of Rahul Dravid will provide solidity at the top-order.The selectors had called Delhi's Virat Kohli to join the team ,but he will not be playing at least in the first match as Dinesh Karthick will open the innigs with Sachin Tendulkar.

Match had started ,The Daniel Vettori won the toss and elected to bat, New -Zealand 155 and India 156/4 ,India won the match .Sachin was awarded with stylish player of the match and most run scorer of the match,Nehre was awarded as man of the match.great play by Sachin tendulkar ,Dhoni and Raina and indian bowlers had done thier job very well.
